Boilers of the Å ukoplam R type with a power range of 15-80kW are intended primarily for burning solid lump fuel (wood, coal) which is manually inserted through the spacious middle door of the boiler. The middle door is also equipped with an opening for installing a pellet, fuel oil or gas burner. This practically gives the boiler versatility for burning different fuels as well as a very easy change of the type of fuel used. The boiler construction is fully compliant with the European and Serbian standard SRPS EN 303-5.

The boiler is designed as a three-pass with one water-cooled partition and a tube bundle, which means that the combustion products pass past the water space three times, transferring maximum heat to the water. The first heat exchange takes place in the firebox, mostly by radiation, over a large area of the combustion chamber, the second heat exchange by radiation and convection in the water-cooled boiler partition, and the third heat exchange is in the flue pipes before the combustion products leave the boiler and takes place mainly by convection and conduction. The boiler body is well insulated with mineral wool, and the casing is protected by plasticizing procedures.

The boiler is intended for the production of hot water in operating modes 110/90C and 90/70C with a maximum operating pressure of 2.5 bar.

By installing a pellet, fuel oil or gas burner and installing a turbulator in the flue pipes for even better heat exchange, the boiler efficiency can reach 92%. Automatics for operating the boiler with burners and turbulators are supplied at the customer's request and are not part of the standard delivery.

The combustion air regulation when burning solid lump fuel is carried out via a draft regulator that operates a flap on the lower door and thus reduces or increases the amount of combustion air. When using a pellet, fuel oil or gas burner, the amount of combustion air is regulated by the burner control and the boiler control.

The boiler is protected against high pressure by a safety valve installed in a prescribed place on the boiler, while the boiler is protected against high temperatures by installing a safety heat exchanger that cools the boiler if necessary.
